She hid the spies
Rahab
Coming in a later age
Rahab lived in Jericho. She hid the spies of Israel and confessed that the Lord is God of heaven and earth.
The story
Rahab told the spies that the Lord their God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.
When Jericho fell, Joshua spared Rahab and her family, and she lived among the Israelites.
“No wonder our hearts have melted in fear! No one has the courage to fight after hearing such things. For the Lord your God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.”Joshua 2:11 NLT
“So Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute and her relatives who were with her in the house, because she had hidden the spies Joshua sent to Jericho. And she lives among the Israelites to this day.”Joshua 6:25 NLT
“It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.”Hebrews 11:31 NLT
In the game
Rahab comes in a later age. She shows something the game keeps: foreigners can join the people of God, as Rahab and Ruth did.
