Questions about the Bible game
Age of the Bible is a Bible strategy game coming soon to iPhone and Android, and playable now in your computer’s browser. Here are the questions families, churches and players ask most.
What is Age of the Bible?
A Christian village-building strategy game set in the world of the Bible. You lead a house that starts with tents and flocks in the days of Genesis, learn the crafts the text describes, and grow your village age after age. When you choose, you go out against the ancient peoples of the text, run by the game, and bring the plunder home to build more.
Is there pay-to-win?
No, and there never will be. The game may offer optional items, but nothing you buy makes you stronger or faster, and no hero of faith is ever for sale. You win by building, planning and playing.
Can I play the Bible game on my phone?
The apps for iPhone and Android are coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Today you can already play in your computer’s browser, with no install: open play.ageofthebible.com and click Play.
Is it like Clash of Clans?
It shares the idea: build a village, train mighty warriors, go out to battle and come back to build more. The difference is that you never fight other players. Every enemy village is an ancient people from the Bible, run by the game, and every battle ends with the passage it comes from.
Is there magic or blood?
No. The art is low poly and there is no blood. There are no spells to buy or cast. When God works in the story, it comes from God, never as a power the player spends.
Who is it for?
Teens and adults (13+) who enjoy building and light strategy games, and who want the Bible behind what they play. Parents, youth groups and Sunday school teachers can use it as a starting point to open the passages together.
Which ages and peoples are in the game?
Today you play the age of Genesis, with three enemy villages: the Philistines of Gerar, the Canaanites of Shechem and the Amorites of Hazazon-tamar. The Conquest and the Kings come next, with new crafts, buildings and peoples.
Which languages?
The game is in English and Portuguese. This site is also in Spanish, and the game in Spanish is on its way.
Which Bible translation do you quote?
In English we quote the New Living Translation (NLT). Scripture quotations marked NLT are taken from the Holy Bible, New Living Translation, copyright © 1996, 2004, 2015 by Tyndale House Foundation. Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188. All rights reserved. Every quote carries its reference, so you can read the whole chapter on Midvash.
Who makes it?
Age of the Bible is a project sponsored by Midvash, a Bible site and app. The 3D art is based on KayKit by Kay Lousberg.
