Samson
Coming in a later age
Samson was set apart to God from birth. His strength came from the Lord.
The story
When Samson was born, the Lord blessed him as he grew up.
At the end of his life, blind and in prison, Samson prayed and asked God to strengthen him one more time.
“When her son was born, she named him Samson. And the Lord blessed him as he grew up.”Judges 13:24 NLT
“Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes.””Judges 16:28 NLT
“How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets.”Hebrews 11:32 NLT
