The Midianites

Coming in a later age

The Midianites were desert peoples who came every year with their tents and herds and stripped the land in the days of the judges.

The story

For seven years the Midianites oppressed Israel. They came with livestock and tents as thick as locusts, on camels too numerous to count.

After Gideon’s victory, Midian never recovered and the land had peace for forty years.

“The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight. So the Lord handed them over to the Midianites for seven years.”Judges 6:1 NLT
“These enemy hordes, coming with their livestock and tents, were as thick as locusts; they arrived on droves of camels too numerous to count. And they stayed until the land was stripped bare.”Judges 6:5 NLT
“That is the story of how the people of Israel defeated Midian, which never recovered. Throughout the rest of Gideon’s lifetime—about forty years—there was peace in the land.”Judges 8:28 NLT

In the game

The Midianites come in the age of the Conquest and fight their own way: with camels, as the text says.
